How do weaves work?
A weave is a naming project for one baby. Inside a weave you add name options, rate them, mark favorites, and sort by newest or best rated. You can set default last names, filter name suggestions by country or language, discover names from suggestion lists, and use AI suggestions or insights on paid plans.
Is NomiaWeave free?
Yes! You can create weaves, manage name options, get language and country-based name suggestions, and share your weave with one collaborator — all for free. Paid plans let you collaborate with more people and unlock advanced features like AI insights. Plans are affordable and help support the app.
Can I share a weave with my partner?
Yes! The free plan lets you share a weave with one collaborator. They can add name options, rate, comment, and help you decide together. Paid plans increase the number of collaborators you can invite.
We’re a multicultural or bilingual family — is NomiaWeave built for us?
Yes. You can select multiple languages and multiple countries in one search, and NomiaWeave blends them into a single suggestion list — useful for finding names that work in both (or all) of your traditions, and for checking popularity and legal registration where you live. It works just as well if you only care about one language or country.
What languages are supported for name suggestions?
We currently offer given-name suggestions for a growing set of languages, including English, Portuguese, Polish, Irish, Welsh, Scots, and Scottish Gaelic — sourced from official birth registries and legal name lists. Support depth varies by language. The up-to-date list lives on our Names page.
What kind of AI help is available?
Paid plans can generate AI name suggestions from your weave and compact insight cards for saved names, covering meaning, cross-language fit, sound, style, and practical trade-offs. Suggestions are only added to your weave when you accept them.
Is my data safe?
We take privacy seriously. Your data is stored securely, never used to train AI models, and only shared with the processors listed in our Privacy Policy. We comply with GDPR and Polish data protection law.
Will there be ads?
The free tier may show non-intrusive, relevant ads (e.g. baby merchandise). Higher-tier subscribers can disable ads entirely.
