Baby Names by Language & Country
NomiaWeave offers free given-name suggestions across 22 languages, combined with popularity and legal data from several countries’ official registries.
Language vs. country filters
A language filter narrows results to names from a specific linguistic tradition — useful for multicultural and bilingual families who want names rooted in a particular language, regardless of where they live.
A country filter surfaces names that are popular or legally registered in that country, regardless of language. The two are complementary, not redundant.
Which one do I want?
Most parents start from heritage, and heritage tracks a language more cleanly than a country. A language filter keeps results close to the traditions you actually want to draw from.
Country filters are useful for a different job: checking popularity where you live, or whether a name is legal at birth. They naturally include foreign and multi-heritage names registered locally, so as a standalone filter they’re often broader than what parents expect.
